Gro-Low Fragrant Sumac (Rhus aromatica ‘Gro-low’) is a terrific low spreading deciduous shrub with fine-textured leaves and grows quickly. It grows about 2 feet high and spreads out 5-6 feet. It can tolerate poor soils and is excellent for planting on banks. It likes acid soils but can handle alkaline soils up to a 7.5 pH. Fragrant sumac likes part to full sun. Its blooms are yellow and small, but its toughness, low maintenance, and foliage are typically why its selected. In the fall, it turns a brilliant reddish-orange. It is an excellent groundcover and ideal for massing. Grows in zones 3 to 9
